Thumbs down Path problems under Windows? - 09-28-2009, 02:28 PM

Hi everybody

I tried to publish the DocBook example (docbook_intro.xml) to PDF with Serna Free 4.2 and Apache FOP. I got this errors:

--
C:\Program Files\Syntext\Serna Free 4.2\bin\xsltproc.exe --xinclude -o C:\Program Files\Syntext\Serna Free 4.2\examples\docbook\tmp2c6u07.fo C:\Program Files\Syntext\Serna Free 4.2\xml\stylesheets\docbook-xsl-1.68.1\fo\docbook.xsl C:\Program Files\Syntext\Serna Free 4.2\examples/docbook/docbook_intro.xml
file:///C%3A/Program%20Files/Syntext/Serna%20Free%204.2/examples/docbook/docbook_intro.xml:2: warning: failed to load external entity "file:///C%3A/Program%20Files/Syntext/Serna%20Free%204.2/examples/docbook/docbookV4.2/docbookx.dtd"
rticle PUBLIC "-//OASIS//DTD DocBook XML V4.2//EN" "docbookV4.2/docbookx.dtd" []
--

For me, this looks like a problem with "path conversion" in Windows -- look at the lines starting with "file:///": Slashes in URI vs. backslashes in Windows?

FYI, my configuration:
Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, Apache FOP 0.95, Sun JRE 1.6.0_16

Any help?

Thanks

This warning could not stop publishing. Can you please send us the full log of the process?

BTW, we have not tested Serna yet on Windows 7. Also please check if Apache FOP 0.95 and Sun JRE 1.6.0_16 support Windows 7.

I have the same problem, did you manage to solve yours? I'm assuming that the problem is at the Serna end as there is no .fo file being produced.

On reflection... Serna documents are, by default, being stored in the 'program files' directory structure - this is likely to be a protected area in Windows 7.

I moved the example document to my 'users' area and have been able to generate to fop.
