Default [How to] Start XSLT Transformation - 02-22-2010, 08:53 PM

Hello out there,

I' working on a plugin for Serna Free and need to transform the current document with an given xslt stylesheet (output should be xml again).

As far as I understand, Serna has it's own XSLT processor. This is why I came up with the idea to use the internal processor, instead of calling any external XSLT processor.

Is there an easy way to do this?

I found the 'trunk\serna\dist\plugins\publishing' Plugin, but it looks like it is handling the whole user interface too. On the other hand, it is stuffed with classes and function calls, for which I havn't found documentation yet. (e.g.: 'getPublishersRegistry' )

Best Regards, Steph.

Serna's built in XSLT processor is used to display and edit documents within Serna only. Hence no way to use it for your purposes. You should use an external application for your tasks.

I'm sorry to hear that, but it shouldn't be a big problem.
Calling an external processor via python shouldn't be that hard.

Thanks for your reply, Steph

Indeed. If you haven't already started, and if I may make a plug for my xml module of choice, lxml-munging makes this pretty easy

Good luck!
